Ad Formats: Site Skins, Retina, Responsive and More!

Site Skins

Skins are served just like any other ads on your site, using a standard ad code install, so they're very easy to set up. Simply click on the + symbol next to "inventory" and select "Website" and "Skin" using the two pulldown menus. Fill out the information as you would with any ad unit and add the code to your site.

Here's an example of a site skin:

And how the skin looks in action:

Retina Creatives

An increasing number of new media devices have a retina display, with such a high pixel density that previously clear images often appear blurry.

When you enable the retina option for your advertisers, we allow them to upload two image files: a typical image, and one that is twice as large. When a retina display is detected, we display the denser ad, which will render more crisply.

If you're currently on a retina device, check out the example image below:

Retina ads are very easy to set up. If it's a new ad unit, click on the + symbol next to "Inventory" and select "Website" and "Image Only" using the two pulldown menus. Click the "Extended" pulldown and select "Retina Creative" and then fill out the remaining information as you would with any ad unit, and add the code to your site.

If the ad unit has already been created, click on the unit in your "Inventory" tab in the left sidebar, select the gear at the top right of the ad unit, and adjust the "Extended" pulldown to select "Retina Creative".

Responsive Ads

Mobile readership is increasing, and the variety of devices can cause formatting issues with ads.

We enabled responsive ads to ensure that an advertiser's images are looking their best, no matter what device is viewing them.

Responsive ads are served just like any other ads on your site, using a standard ad code install, so they're very easy to set up. If it's a new ad unit, click on the + symbol next to "inventory" and select "Website" and "Image Only" using the two pulldown menus. Click the "Extended" pulldown and select "Responsive Ads" and then fill out the remaining information as you would with any ad unit, and add the code to your site.

If the ad unit has already been created, click on the unit in your "Inventory" tad in the left sidebar, select the gear at the top right of the ad unit, and adjust the "Extended" pulldown to select "Responsive Ads".
